Location: Deer Creek Fire is located south of the Deer Creek Dam up Provo Canyon

Cooperators: Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs and counties

Yesterday: The Deer Creek Fire started around noon. Local and state resources responded to the initial report. The fire was terrain and weather driven. Thunderstorms moved in around 4:00 p.m. and crews were pulled from the hill due to safety concerns. The fire received significant moisture from the storms.

Today: Fire managers are directing crews to limit the spread of fire on the north side, keep the fire off of US Forest Service land, minimized the impact to private land, and apply direct line. Crews will cold trail and mop up as the day progresses.

Restrictions: Cascade Springs Road is closed to the public, from Midway to Cascade Springs.

Smoke will be visible from Heber City, Provo, and Park City areas.
