FIRE INFORMATION UPDATE

September 3, 2018

Time: 8:00 p.m.                                                          Cause: Human, arson

Size: 350 acres                                                            Percent Contained: 0%

Date Started: September 3, 2018                              Location: 6.5 miles northeast of Coalville

Resources: 17 engines, 4 SEATS, 2 heavy air tankers, 2 helicopter, 1 helitack crew.

Cooperator: Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands

Status:  The Tervels Fire started around 2:00 pm this afternoon. Summit County resources arrived quickly and more resources were ordered. Echo Creek Ranches area is under a pre-evacuation order. One lane eastbound I-80 is closed from milemarker 169 to 171. A fire investigator determined the cause to be arson. The fire will be monitored throughout the night. Ground crews and air resources will continue full suppression efforts tomorrow.

Safety:  Be cautious when driving in the area. Do not stop on roads.

Smoke will be visible from Ogden Valley, Coalville, Evanstan,Wyoming and other surrounding areas.
