Sept. 30 Mirror Lake Complex PM Update

Despite winds Sunday, the Murdock fire did not grow significantly. On the southeastern flank, the head of the fire reached Pinto Lake. On the northern flank, large helicopters dipped from Mirror Lake to drop water on hot spots about 1.5 miles east of Hwy. 150. near Blythe Lake.

The Mirror Lake Highway (Hwy. 150) will again be closed Monday from the Murdock Basin Turnoff (MM 22) to Ruth Lake Campground (MM38). Local sheriff’s offices and Utah Highway Patrol will evaluate opening it in the afternoon.

Over the weekend, minimal fire behavior took place on the Slate Fire. It is contained on the north flank and should not move north into Weber Canyon.

By 7:30, it was raining over the Mirror Lake Complex Incident Command Post. The incident meteorologist anticipates this rain will continue through the week, producing up to three inches of rain through the week.
