FIRE INFORMATION UPDATE

July 30, 2018

Time: 8:00 a.m.                                                         Cause: Human caused, under investigation

Size: 171 acres                                                           Percent Contained: 35%

Date Started: July 26, 2018                                     Location: Middle Canyon

Number of Personnel: 105

Resources:  1 helicopter, 6 engines, 1 hotshot crews and 2 hand crews

Cooperators: Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, USDA Forest Service and North Tooele Fire District and Bureau of Land Management

Yesterday: Ground crews and air support increased containment to 35%. No additional acreage was burned. Fire behavior was moderate, and responded well to suppression efforts.

Today: Crews will continue to construct direct line where feasible and improve on existing line. Crews will be monitoring areas where there is difficult terrain and utilize the helicopter as necessary. We expect additional containment as crews construct new line and improve exiting line.

Current Closure Order: Middle Canyon and Butterfield Canyon roads.
