Size: 536 acres Percent Contained: 25%
Date Started: September 3, 2018 Location: 6.5 miles northeast of Coalville
Total personnel: 116

Status: Yesterday, the fire showed no growth in size. Crews focused efforts on the south flank of the fire, and water was dropped on the fire throughout the day. The acreage is 536 due to more accurate mapping. Direct attack was implemented. Today, crews will be working to construct and secure line, and begin mop up operations. The Echo Creek Ranches area is located four miles east of the fire and is still in pre-evacuation status. One lane eastbound I-80 is closed from milemarker 169 to 171. Concerns are the incoming thunderstorms and related wind. Challenges are steep terrain and I-80 traffic.
Fire investigators determined the cause to be arson. They are looking for suspects. Anyone with information should contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Department.
Safety: Be cautious when driving in the area. Do not stop on roads.
